CLINICAL SUPERVISION

I have had the pleasure and honor of supervising experienced , and those in training, for over 30 years. I believe supervision is a dynamic, collaborative process. I like to think of it as a play-space.

What do I mean by that? When we see children play, we witness their curiosity, spontaneity and risk taking. That’s my wish for the supervisory process.

It is a space for exploration and taking chances; it is a space to develop a deeper understanding of what makes people tick; but it is also a place to explore yourself- the biases you may have, the things that may create discomfort, your emotional reactions, and your anxieties as they relate to your work as a therapist.

This work is challenging and emotionally draining. Staying vital in the therapy room can be difficult, and developing a healthy work-life balance is essential to feeling good about your work.

My aim is to create a space where you feel supported, and encourage the development of your own voice as a clinician. I want you to look forward to supervision, not dread it. I strive to make the supervisory experience stimulating, challenging, and yes, fun.
